EA-18G グラウラーの次世代電波妨害装置を、3Dモデリングと3Dプリントで再現しました。
EA-18Gグラウラーに搭載が始まった次世代電波妨害装置、AN/ALQ-249 Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band を再現したものです。この装置は中周波数帯を担当する電子妨害装置で、両翼に搭載して運用されます。
従来の AN/ALQ-99 と比べ、高出力の電波妨害が可能になっています。ALQ-99 では先端のプロペラによって発電を行っていましたが、より多くの電力が必要になったため、胴体内部に大型のファンを搭載し、開閉式の前後扉から風を取り込んで発電する仕組みに変更されました。また、アンテナも大型化されています。
次世代の EA-18G を再現する際には、欠かせないパーツと言えるでしょう。
本キットでは、風を取り込むための前後扉を閉じた状態を再現しています。

For EA-18G AN/ALQ-249 Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band
This is a recreation of the EA-18G Growler’s next-generation electronic jamming device, modeled and reproduced through 3D modeling and 3D printing.
The AN/ALQ-249 Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band is an electronic warfare system designed to cover the mid-frequency band and is operated mounted on both wings of the EA-18G Growler.
Compared to the previous AN/ALQ-99 system, this new jammer is capable of higher-power electronic jamming. While the AN/ALQ-99 used a propeller at the front for power generation, the AN/ALQ-249 requires more power, leading to the adoption of a larger fan housed within the fuselage. It uses an opening-and-closing mechanism on the front and rear doors to draw in air for power generation. Additionally, the antenna has been scaled up.
This part is essential for recreating the next-generation EA-18G. The kit includes a model with the front and rear doors closed.
