《4868》1/48 F-8E/J スピードブレーキ（ハセガワ用）

F-8 のスピードブレーキは主脚庫前方に配置されています。初期型の F-8 では、スピードブレーキとロケットポッドが上下二段構造となっていましたが、後期型ではロケットポッドの機能が廃止されました。F-8E/J では、ロケットポッドとしての運用機能を持たないスピードブレーキが装備されています。スピードブレーキは胴体下面に接地する構造のため、駐機状態では全開にすることができません（フライトマニュアルには、着陸アプローチ中にスピードブレーキを閉じる指示が記載されています）。本キットでは、飛行中の全開に近い状態と、駐機中に油圧が抜けて下がった状態のいずれかを選択して再現できるようにしました。キットのパーツ構成上、主脚庫前側の隔壁も本キットに含まれます。F-8E/J で見られるディテールを再現しています。航法灯用として、クリアパーツが付属します。

本製品は、キットの胴体の一部を切り取って取り付けるパーツです。キット側のパーツをモールドに合わせて切り取る必要があります。加工方法によっては整合が難しくなる可能性があるため、本パーツはややオーバーサイズで設計しています。キットと接する部分を少しずつ削り、胴体に合うよう調整してください。※スピードブレーキ内部の内壁構造や配管・配線の取り回しについては、完全な資料が入手できなかったため、一部はイメージによる再現となっています。あらかじめご了承ください。

《4868》1/48 F-8E/J Speed Brake (for Hasegawa)

The speed brake of the F-8 is located in front of the main landing gear bay. In early versions of the F-8, the speed brake and rocket pod were configured in a two-tier structure, but in later versions, the rocket pod function was eliminated. The F-8E/J is equipped with a speed brake that does not function as a rocket pod. Since the speed brake is designed to contact the underside of the fuselage, it cannot be fully deployed while the aircraft is parked (the flight manual instructs that the speed brake should be closed during landing approach). This kit allows you to choose between two configurations: one with the speed brake nearly fully deployed in flight, and another with it lowered due to hydraulic pressure loss while parked. Due to the kit’s part structure, the front bulkhead of the main landing gear bay is also included. The details specific to the F-8E/J are faithfully reproduced. Clear parts for the navigation lights are included.

This product requires cutting a portion of the kit’s fuselage for installation. You will need to trim the kit parts to match the molding. As alignment may be challenging depending on the cutting method, this part has been designed slightly oversized. Please adjust by gradually sanding the contact areas to fit the fuselage. *Note: Due to the lack of complete reference materials, some of the internal wall structures and piping/wiring inside the speed brake are recreated based on interpretation.
