《14402》1/144 F-8Eコクピット・ノズルセット（F-8E・モデルアート用 ）

F-8Eのコクピットとエンジンノズルを3Dモデリング・3Dプリントで再現しました。
コクピットとエンジンノズルのセットになっています。

サブタイプの多いF-8クルセイダーの中で、F-8EのAN/APQ-94レーダーの表示装置が計器盤の上部に装備されたコクピットです。コクピットタブ前方のラダーペダル、側面のサイドコンソール、イジェクションシートの後ろのキャノピ開閉装置などを再現しました。

Mk.F7イジェクションシートをコクピットタブと一体にして成形しています。
F-8クルセイダー初期ではVOUGHTイジェクションシートが装着されていましたが、F-8D以降ではMB Mk.F5Aに置き換えられています。今回再現したMk.F7は、F-8A以外のサブタイプで換装により搭載されたイジェクションシートになっています。
※MK.F7のイジェクションシートはサブタイプが存在しますが、特定のサブタイプを再現したものにはなっていません

塗り分けしやすくするために、コクピットを前後2パーツに分割し、操縦桿を別パーツにしています。

F-8はJ57-P-20を搭載していました。プラット・アンド・ホイットニー社ではJT3Cの名称で呼ばれています。F-8の資料を見ていると、ノズルのアイリスを覆うカバー部分の形状が3パターンほどあるようですが、当パーツではF-8E/Jに搭載されている、アイリスが全開になると円筒形に収まるような形状を再現するようにしています。アイリス自体は、全閉に近い状態としました。オグメンタのパイプ部分やフレームホルダーも再現しています。

モデルアート用に形状を調整してあります。キットのアンチグレアシールドを切除する必要がありますが、それ以外の加工は必要ありません。

《14402》1/144 F-8E Cockpit & Exhaust Nozzle Set (for Model Art F-8E)

This detail-up set reproduces the F-8E cockpit and engine exhaust nozzle using high-resolution 3D modeling and 3D printing technology.
The set includes both the cockpit and the exhaust nozzle.

Among the many F-8 Crusader variants, this cockpit represents the F-8E configuration equipped with the AN/APQ-94 radar display mounted above the instrument panel.
Details such as the rudder pedals at the front of the cockpit tub, the side consoles, and the canopy operating mechanism behind the ejection seat have been faithfully reproduced.

The MB Mk.F7 ejection seat is molded integrally with the cockpit tub.
Early F-8 Crusaders were equipped with the Vought ejection seat, while aircraft from the F-8D onward were upgraded to the MB Mk.F5A. The Mk.F7 reproduced in this set represents the later replacement seat fitted to F-8 variants other than the F-8A.
*Although several variations of the Mk.F7 existed, this part is not intended to reproduce any specific subtype.

To simplify painting, the cockpit is divided into front and rear sections, and the control stick is provided as a separate part.

The F-8 was powered by the Pratt & Whitney J57-P-20 turbojet, also known by the company designation JT3C.
Reference materials show several different styles of nozzle iris covers. This set reproduces the type fitted to the F-8E/J, in which the iris retracts neatly into a cylindrical housing when fully opened. The iris itself is represented in an almost fully closed position. The augmentor tube and flame holder have also been accurately reproduced.

The parts have been specifically designed for the Model Art kit. The kit's anti-glare shield must be removed before installation, but no other modification is required.
