The definition of "the strongest fighter" is challenging to pin down. Is it the top speed, endurance, maneuverability, engine power, combat capability, armament capacity, and so on? The debate over what constitutes "the strongest" is endless. However, when it comes to the German Air Force during World War II, most people would undoubtedly mention the "Focke-Wulf Fw190" as the leading contender. Developed and designed as a supplementary fighter to the Messerschmitt Bf109, the prototype was completed in just about a year. During the testing phase, it demonstrated superior performance in every aspect compared to the Bf109. When deployed in combat, it showcased its exceptional capabilities, securing air superiority over Europe. Additionally, due to its robust design capable of withstanding harsh combat conditions, various versions were produced, including fighter-bomber types. In the Aircraft Model Special No.45, we will focus on the detailed explanation and construction articles of the 1/32 scale Fw190A-4 kit by Zoukei-Mura, which is about to be released to the general public. We will also attempt to build various models of the Focke-Wulf Fw190 from different manufacturers and scales featuring air-cooled engines.
